Directions: Follow the A26 towards Paris, then take the A1 towards Paris Est. Around the outskirts of Paris, follow the signs for Bordeaux (A10). Once on the A10, head for Orleans. At Orleans, take the A71 to Clermont Ferrand. At Clermon Ferrand, the A71 becomes the A75; head for Montpelier. Leave the A71 at Junction 20 (Brioude), and follow the signs for Le Puy en Velay and Brioude*. At the 1st roundabout, take the first exit (signposted for Le Puy & Brioude), and at the next roundabout take the first exit, signposted for Brioude ZA Nord.

Drive towards the town of Brioude (straight over five roundabouts and two sets of traffic lights). At the fifth roundabout, you will see a sign for Lavoute Chilhac. After approximately one mile, you will enter Vielle Brioude. Shortly after passing the Glycines Hotel on your right, take the next right turn, signposted for Lavoute Chilhac. Follow this road for several undulating miles until you reach the village. Turn right at the Pharmacy and drive uphill for about 3/4 of a mile. After the second hairpin bend you will see a left turn signposted "Le Bois". Riverview is the last house at the end of this road.

Return Journey: Retrace your steps to the A75, and head for Paris. When you reach Paris, follow the signs for Lille until you see the signs for Calais.

By Car from anywhere else:- Enter the address: "Le Bois, 43380, Lavote-Chilhac, France" into your Satellite Navigation system. On entering the village, take the road next to the Pharmacy and after approx. 1km take the left turn signposted "Le Bois". Riverview is the last house at the end of this road.

By Air:- The nearest airports are

Rodez (Approx 2 hrs drive from the Gite; flights in summer only)

Clermont Ferrand (approx 1 hr drive from the Gite; flybe have recently opened a route from Southampton to Clermont Ferrand - http://www.flybe.com/)

Lyon (approx 2 1/2 hrs drive from the Gite)

By Rail:- Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord; Metro to Paris Gare de Lyon, then TGV to Clermont Ferrand.

*Brioude: Brioude is the nearest major town to Riverview. It has three supermarkets (should you want to stop and get provisions for your stay); bars, restaurants (The Post Hotel is recommended), and even a McDonalds to placate the kids!
